Scout Group receives Lottery Award |

Charlton Kings Scouts are over the moon after receiving a grant of £ 5,000 from the National Lottery’s ‘Award for All’ fund.
The grant allows us to improve the access to the main entrance to our headquarters in Charlton Kings and to carry out internal improvements including renewal of the floor covering to side hall.
It is hoped that this grant will benefit not only our members, but all those who use the building. Our marquee hire service provides income for day to day maintenance but not for major improvements.

We had a brilliant turn out (on a rather damp afternoon) for the St Georges Day Parade this year. We joined over 400 Scouts from all over Cheltenham as we marched to Cheltenham College for a short service and drinks and buns afterwards |

Charlton Kings Scout Group to accept girls |

From January 2006 our Beaver waiting list will be opened up to girls. This is part of a nationwide move by the Scouts Association, to make all Scout Groups mixed by 2007, the Centenary Year of Scouting.
From January 2007 we will welcome girls into all sections (dependant on waiting lists).
Whilst we do not wish to compete with our local Girl Guides, we do have to stay in line with all other Scout Groups.
