Monday Cubs - what we offer PDF Print E-mail
Written by Peter Newth

We are a medium sized and very active pack and run a well balanced, varied programme offering the opportunity to take part in a wide range of activities and the opportunity to learn new skills.Typically this will include games, cooking, crafts, outdoor skills and more adventourous activities such as climbing, snowtubing, riding etc.

In addition, we take part in many District events and competitions including Chess, Football and Swimming as well as the District Fun Day. In recent years some of our teams have also gone on to take part in County level Football and Chess competitions.

Each summer, normally in June, we have an outdoor camping holiday - usually with Tuesday and Thursday Cubs and in the winter an indoor pack holiday, where the Cubs have the opportunity to take part in many Scouting activities.

Much of the programme is based on work towards achieving badges or awards, undertaken as a group. However Cubs can also obtain badges for activities undertaken individually if suitable evidence is provided for example swimming or martial arts certificates. Details of all the awards can be found in the ‘Cub Scout Powerpack’ – a small book available from the Scout shop. Alternatively information can be downloaded from scoutbase.org.uk

Recently we have been doing the Scientist badge.
